The 'pale man' in Pan's Labyrinth (El laberinto del fauno) was inspired by a painting present in El Prado Museum.

Try watching the film with your students, then get them to analyse the painting and establish whether they see the connection.

This is an exciting way of using Spanish film and art in the classroom to teach language and grammar.

Fabian Herrera, Head of MFL at Oakwood Park Grammar School, was inspired to suggest this teaching idea after hearing Dr Carmen Herrero (Manchester Metropolitan University) speak on 'Guillermo del Toro' at our New Teacher Subject Days course.

Schools Programme members and course attendees can download the resources from the event in the PTI Staffroom.
